This necklace is made with a vintage Mardi Gras doubloon minted in 1972. Today doubloons are thrown from floats during Mardi Gras parades. At one time these heavy guage doubloons were not thrown, but passed out, due to their heavy weight. This double sided medallion has great detail and is the perfect conversation piece!
