This necklace features a vintage Mardi Gras doubloon that dates back to 1968. Today doubloons are made of plastic or aluminum and thrown from floats during Mardi Gras. At one time these heavy guage doubloons were not thrown, but handed out due to their weight. This medallion has great detail and is the perfect conversation piece!
